About the Course
Conditioning and Playability
Heritage Oaks is famous for award winning course conditions, with tee to green Creeping Bent Grass, and receptive greens.
The Bill Love design mixing woodland and links style holes makes for an interesting round.
Unlike many area courses which were designed for power cart travel, Heritage Oaks has a compact enough layout that makes for ease of walking.
It can be a forgiving course for beginners and can play challenging for skilled golfers.
Commitment to Maintenance
Our course has abundant wildlife and we are committed to protecting the environment. Heritage Oaks is one of, if not the best maintained public course in the Shenandoah Valley.
Heritage Oaks Golf Course had its soft opening in Fall of 2001 and began fully operating in March of 2002.
In addition to providing rounds of golf, Heritage Oaks hosts tournaments and fundraising events.
We are also the home of several local high school gold teams, and James Madison University’s and Eastern Mennonite University’s teams.
We also have four golf leagues of our own. Additionally, we offer private and group golf instruction, and have a driving range. Not only is Heritage Oaks a leading municipal golf course in the Shenandoah Valley, our golf course facilities have also provided an opportunity for non-golf related events and activities for the public to enjoy.
